Online Therapy with Dr. Camden
Online therapy and counseling, via telehealth, has become one of the most flexible and accessible ways for many people to get the care they deserve. Whether you’re juggling a busy schedule, living far from specialized providers, managing health limitations, or simply wanting the comfort of your own space, telehealth can be a wonderfully effective option. Research over the past decade has consistently shown that online therapy is often just as effective as in-person treatment for conditions like anxiety, depression, PTSD, relationship difficulties, and stress-related concerns. For many people, the combination of comfort + consistency improves engagement and progress.

Benefits & Convenience
Online therapy allows you to meet from home, your office, or even your car during a lunch break. No commute, no traffic, no rushing. Many clients find that being in their own familiar environment helps them open up more easily, regulate their nervous system more quickly, and integrate therapeutic tools right into the flow of daily life. Sessions are secure, private, and easy to access with just a phone, tablet, or laptop.

Safety & Evidence-Based Effectiveness
Telehealth platforms use encrypted, HIPAA-compliant technology to protect confidentiality. Sessions often feel surprisingly intimate and grounded, thanks to modern video quality and the simple fact that emotional presence translates well across the screen.
Decades of research—and especially the robust studies since 2020—support that online therapy is highly effective for:
-
Anxiety & depressed mood
-
Trauma-related symptoms
-
Grief and adjustment challenges
-
Family transitions, stress, and relationship issues
-
Parenting support and guidance
-
ADHD-related executive-function struggles
In many studies, client satisfaction ratings for online therapy match or exceed in-person care.

When Online Therapy Isn't Best
Online therapy isn’t ideal for certain higher-risk or more specialized situations. These include:
-
Individuals experiencing active suicidal intent or severe self-harm behavior
-
People with unmanaged psychosis or mania
-
Situations where domestic violence or the home environment makes privacy impossible
-
Cases requiring in-person assessment (e.g., some court-related matters or certain testing situations)
