Where Neuroscience and Spirit Meet. . .

Dr. Camden's approach combines years of study of the neuropsychology of psychotherapy with an appreciation for the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit, enriching the therapeutic process in often profound ways.  This science-based foundation creates a compassionate and effective approach that works with the brain’s natural patterns to promote healing and growth--only if and when clients are comfortable moving into this realm.  It is just fine to do straight psychotherapy without anything that feels too weird or "woo-woo."  Freedom to choose and to choose without pressure is fundamental to a healthy psychotherapeutic relationship.

Yoga-Influenced Practices

As a trained yoga teacher, long time yoga practitioner, and student of yogic philosophy, Dr. Camden often integrates the powerful tools of yoga poses, breathwork, and yoga philosophy into psychotherapy to create a holistic approach to healing. By incorporating specific mindful movements and postures and intentional breath, clients can deepen their awareness of their body, release tension, and foster a sense of grounding. These practices not only enhance emotional regulation but also support the exploration of thoughts and feelings in a safe, embodied way. Yoga philosophy, with its emphasis on mindfulness, compassion, and balance, complements the therapeutic process by offering valuable insights into self-awareness, resilience, and inner peace. Together, these elements provide a comprehensive framework that nurtures both the mind and body, empowering clients to create lasting transformation and well-being.

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)

EFT, often referred to as "tapping," is an alternative approach to emotional and physical relief. By gently tapping on specific acupressure points while focusing on thoughts or feelings that cause distress, EFT helps release emotional blocks and restore a sense of balance. This technique combines elements of traditional Chinese medicine with modern psychology to address anxiety, trauma, pain, and limiting beliefs. Whether you're looking to overcome personal challenges or enhance your overall well-being, EFT offers a gentle and effective pathway to emotional freedom.  This is a relatively easy technique to learn.  Once you understand how to do it, you can use it on your own.

Reiki

Reiki is a gentle, holistic healing practice that promotes balance and well-being by channeling universal life energy. Rooted in Japanese tradition, Reiki works by addressing energy imbalances within the body, helping to reduce stress, promote relaxation, and support emotional and physical healing. During a session, a practitioner uses light touch or places their hands slightly above the body to guide this energy, creating a calming and restorative experience.  Because Dr. Camden does not practice hands-on techniques of any kind with her clients, this practice is offered virtually only.  Reiki and works well across distance, as in telehealth. EFT is suitable for people of all ages and can complement other therapies, enhancing overall health and harmony. Explore the transformative power of Reiki and discover a pathway to inner peace and vitality.
